Clear the lane for Maccabi Swimming
At last Maccabi is starting a swimming club in Perth.
We have had a large number of people asking to start a Maccabi swimming club, which we are now doing.
Swimming will be for all ages - Juniors, Seniors and Masters. We will be having a training session to start off with once a week on Monday evenings at 6.30pm at Inglewood swimming pool. The session will be for 1 hour.
An accredited coach will run the program, assisting with stroke correction and style improvement.
For those interested there are swimming carnivals available, as well as open water sea swims. For the ultra energetic there is always the Rottnest swim in February each year.
Masters
As of January 2010, Masters swimming will be from age 18 years old. If you’re a keen swimmer, get involved,. You can even try out some competition swims. There’s no pressure as you swim against people with similar times to yourself, so basically you are only swimming against yourself.
Pan Pacifics
For the more competitive swimmers, the Pan Pacific games are being held in November 2010 on the Gold Coast. Combine a swim comp with a good holiday.
Sydney, December 2010
The MAIGS Competition, which includes all different types of sport. As the newest Maccabi club, we are hoping to take a large number of swimmers to Maccabi Sydney 2010.
After swimming in the previous MAIGS 3 years ago in Sydney, I talk from personal experience that it is really the most wonderful event to participate in, the sport, fun and meeting of new friends is excellent and a great experience -- I urge those “keen to competition” to give your best effort to participate.
For those who prefer not to be competitive, just come along and join us for a swim, have some fun and get fit at the same time.
Remember there is also Maccabi Israel 2013 to work towards, set this as your GOAL!!!
If you are interested or you know someone who may be interested, please either call George Lazarus on 0421 313 063 or email to george@carandtruckhospital.com
P.S: We will start the training sessions as soon as we have an idea of numbers interested in swimming. |
