Maccabi Chess Club is focused on juniors who are interested in learning the game and improving their skills.

The chess club meets every Monday during the school term. There are two classes:-
Prep & Year 1 - 6:30pm to 6:50pm
Juniors - 6:45pm to 7:45pm

 The session incorporates learning skills (the Summerway System with grading), playing against members using chess clocks. Touch move is enforced early on to allow the children to get familar with concept as soon as possible.

Events arranged during the year include: -

• interclub matches,
• adults vs children matches and
• simultaneous games against top players

The chess children are also given puzzles to solve, these puzzles re-inforce concepts learned and aid in the children's tactical play.
